where the High Weald begins….
Bidborough is situated about five miles from Tunbridge Wells (see map) and has a population of approximately 970. The village has a primary school, a church, a pub and restaurant, a garage and a shop. It also has a village hall that is very well used by many clubs and societies including the dramatic society, woodland group, nursery group, W.I., gardening society, brownies and badminton.
Sports facilities are also good in the parish with provision for cricket and five a side football which are both popular. There are tennis courts, a bowls green and recreation play areas for younger and older children.
The Parish Council has been running for over 125 years and is Trustee of the Arthur Nicholson Recreation Ground. The service the Council provides to the community includes overseeing the maintenance of Birchwood and Brookhurst Field.
The parish is active in initiating projects like the Village of the Year competition and Bidborough in Bloom.
