The playground within the Arthur Nicholson Recreation Ground has fallen into disrepair over the last few years.

One of the main aims of the new Council when they were elected in May 2023 was to refurbish the play park.  So it is with great pleasure that, following a competitive tender process, in October 2023 the Council awarded the tender to Kompan (as their preferred supplier).

Further details of the Kompan tender will be uploaded in due course.

Working hand-in-hand with the Council in their bid to refurbish the play park, the Friends of Bidborough Play Park have been fundraising vigorously over the last two years and have to date raised just over £57,000 to go towards the refurbishment. The Friend of Bidborough Play Park continue to fund raise - and their next event is a Ceilidh (with a nod to Burns Night!) to be held on Saturday 27th January 2024. The Friends of Bidborough are now a registered charity which means that, if you are a tax payer, your donation can be gift aided. The charity's initial remit is for the refurbishment of the play park but once this is complete it is hoped that it will continue to fund raise for the provision of other sports and recreation facilities within the parish - including the longed for renewal of the pavilion.

The Friends of Bidborough Play Park is run by Katie Haylock and Sarah Carrick and the Council would like to give their heartfelt thanks to these two amazing ladies and for all they are doing for our community.
